Mercury Free Wisconsin
Mercury Free Wisconsin is a coalition of health, sporting, and conservation groups committed to a healthy and mercury-free environment.

Mercury is commonly regarded as one of the most significant and harmful individual pollutants that threaten our environment today. Its effects on the environment and the corresponding communities are well-documented. These effects are surprisingly destructive, and show themselves with even the slightest bit of excess environmental contamination.

The fact that a touch of mercury in our lakes can cause humans to experience unsafe blood levels of mercury by way of ingesting a few fish from these waters exemplifies the danger. Even such a small ingestion of mercury as this has been proven to have negative impacts on cognitive ability, memory, attention, language, motor skills, and/or fertility in men, women, and especially children.
